    This is a special place, at the meeting place of three borders (France, Switzerland and Germany), alongside the Rhine,opposite the Bâle leisure port, a stone's throw from the shops at Weil-Am-Rhein, in Germany. Below the footbridge steps is a little pebble beach, visited by numerous swans and a whole variety of wild ducks. (It is the footbridge with the widest span in the world - 238 m). In the distance, several Km away, the beginning of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) is visible. About 100 metres away, at the beginnnig of the canal, the site of the Parc des Eaux Vives begins - a place where kayaking and rafting may be practised. This magnificent park is ideal for walking or bike riding, and contains games for children, fountains and a climbing wall.
