Pedal the waterways

Go where the water goes, along the Rhine and the canals. Thanks to the "2 banks, 3 bridges" network of cycle tracks, you can pedal from one bank to the other, "leap-frogging" to and fro across the French, German and Swiss borders.

Soak up nature in the Petite Camargue Alsacienne

If the Three Countries Region is at the crossroads of land, rail and air routes, it is also at the crossroads of waterways, which are as many corners of nature for all kinds of outdoor activities.

The Rhine in all its facets

Water, omnipresent like a golden thread, will accompany you throughout your stay. Whether by the water, on the water or in the water, the Rhine is an extraordinary playground.

Soak up nature in the Petite Camargue Alsacienne

If the Three Countries Region is at the crossroads of land, rail and air routes, it is also at the crossroads of waterways, which are as many corners of nature for all kinds of outdoor activities.

The Rhine, "wild Rhine", Grand Canal d'Alsace, Huningue Canal and Rhône-Rhine Canal provide a wide and varied choice of sites for angling enthusiasts. Situated in the Petite Camargue Alsacienne nature reserve, the Île du Rhin is particularly conducive to fly fishing. It is possible to fish there in particular for trout, grayling and barbel between May and October, and some specimens can reach an impressive size!  The natural heritage of the "wild Rhine", and a protected 950 ha nature reserve, the Petite Camargue Alsacienne is extraodinarily rich in animal and plant species: wet forests, insects, batrachians, mammals, birds ... Waymarked paths, observation points and themed visits will enable you to see nature in a new light. You will understand the turbulent history of the Rhine and the fantastic adventure of artificial fish reproduction thanks to two permanent exhibitions, "Memory of the Rhine" and "Memory of the Salmon", in the prestigious Napoleon III style buildings at the former Imperial fish farm at Huningue.   The Hardt Forest or "Rhine forest", is a state-owned private forest. It forms the second biggest area of forest in Alsace, covering a total surface area of more than 13,000 ha. Many leisure activities are practised in the forest including shooting, fishing in the old gravel pits, cycling, rollerblading, walking, horse-riding, picking flowers and mushrooms... It is one of the largest peri-urban forest areas in France.
